At Evolution, we conduct research regularly in countries all over the world. Our vast global experience enables us to deliver benefits beyond the reach of other firms. For example, we have established relationships with moderators and translators in most major geographic regions. We understand how the health systems work in international markets, especially emerging markets. Providing Global Continuity
Researchers from Evolution personally oversee all aspects of multi-country research to provide you with the continuity that you need in order to make confident comparisons across markets. In particular, for each project, the Evolution team will: -
Prepare all materials including regional variations in questions and competitive set. -
Oversee the translation of materials to assure that the intent of specific questions is conveyed, and are delivered in using a familiar lexicon. -
Attend/watch all centrally located pre-test interviews in each country to assure that: moderators and translators are properly and fully briefed regarding the objectives of the research; topics are appropriately and thoroughly probed; regional changes to wording / phrasing is appropriate and maintains the integrity of the materials; and required logistics are fully implemented. -
Debrief with each moderator during and following the field to assure that all objectives are clearly addressed. Providing Regional Continuity
As interviews are initiated in a central location and completed in the field, it is important that local moderators are fully trained to execute interviews in a consistent manner and to be able to anticipate questions as they arise. As such, Evolution insists that the moderators who conduct centrally located interviews are those who also oversee the in-field interviews. We have found that this technique is the ONLY way to provide continuity and consistency of interviews and to be able to provide cohesive and comprehensive results.
In addition, because the centrally located pre-test interviews are essential to understanding how the materials are being conveyed and perceived, Evolution insists that the simultaneous translator (in non-English-speaking countries) attends all briefing sessions. By doing so, we assure that: -
Terminology is consistent -
Important nuances communicated by the moderator and respondent during the interview are appropriately conveyed -
There is a team-approach when language / translation issues arise, in that both the moderator and translator can help brainstorm alternative ways to communicate key concepts.
